About Me
Lauren Caivano
Educational Therapist
My journey with Educational Therapy began as a parent seeking help for my son who struggled to learn to read. I was able to see first hand the benefits of the NILD (National Institute for Learning Developments) Educational Therapy program. I decided to utilize my degree in education and help other struggling students with one on one sessions to help them become confident learners in the classroom. I believe in maintaining a positive mindset, creating partnerships with a purpose, and always striving for significant outcomes. When your student works with me, you should expect consistent purposefully planned sessions that challenge your student to produce success. Want to learn more? What is Educational Therapy- consists of 2 sessions a week. During the sessions students work to address reading skills and comprehension, number sense and a greater understanding of math concepts. In addition to reading and math, cognitive precessing skills, visual perceptional skills and auditory processing is also addressed. In individualized sessions the students underlying deficits are able to be strengthened and positive results are seen in the classroom. The goal of the Educational Therapy program is for students to become confident and capable learners. This is achieved through helping students learn to focus, then to think, reason and process information.

Who can benefit for Educational Therapy? Students that are struggling to keep up in the classroom. These are often students who are very bright in areas that interest them and struggle with focus in the classroom setting. Students who have a diagnosis of dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, or ADHD are able to work hard in Educational Therapy and make great progress.

What testing data is needed? Academic testing preformed by a Psychologist or diagnostician is needed to help give insight and create the individualized plan of instruction.
